OBJECTIVE: HMG-CoA reductase inhibitors have been shown to upregulate GTP
cyclohydrolase I (GTPCH-I), the key enzyme for tetrahydrobiopterin de novo synthesis and to
normalize tetrahydrobiopterin levels in hyperglycemic endothelial cells. We sought to
