Apolipoprotein M (apoM) is a member of the lipocalin superfamily and is predominantly
associated with high-density lipoprotein (HDL). It was found that apoM is the chaperon to the
bioactive sphingolipid, sphingosine-1-phosphate (S1P). Several studies have since
